No law, varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives, shall take effect, until an election of Representatives shall have intervened.
The Twenty-seventh Amendment prohibits any law that increases or decreases the salary of members of the Congress from taking effect until the start of the next set of terms of office for Representatives. It is the most recent amendment to the United States Constitution, having been ratified in 1992, more than 202 years after its initial submission in 1789.

ReplyDeleteI have done door to door for over 15 years in southwest Missouri and other areas and at this time people are more upset than
ever that the government does what it wants to and does really not listen much at all to the wishes of the people. Since the Supreme Court
has made no rulings on petitioning the government at Career Centers in Missouri an across the nation this is reason to take up
this case. The Career Centers are public forums with people seeing other people and talking about jobs and being on the computers sendingemails. The City of Springfield has fought this case in federal court for four years and spent an estimated $280,000. We need more citizen involvement not less.
The founding fathers in the contract with the People known as the Constitution set out certain rights and liberties that must be adhered to otherwise the contract is void. People who want to run for alderman n or council persons have to get nominating petition signatures and people make want to petition for a statewide ballot issue.
